Literacy for Primary 1

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Literacy focuses on helping the pupils to learn letters of the alphabet, how to read and write,

parts of speech and its usage.  it is also the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create,

communicate, and compute, using printed or written materials.

CERTIFICATION

At the end of this course, if a student scores 80% and above in all the continuous

assessment tests and assignments, you will receive a certificate of completion from the school.

LEARNING OUTCOME

At the end of  this  course, students are expected to:

1. Define countable and uncountable nouns
2. Give examples of countable and uncountable nouns
3. Singular and plurals of uncountable nouns with examples
4. Identify countable and uncountable nouns in sentences.
5. Understand how to change regular nouns to plural by adding – s, es or by changing nouns with f and y.
6. Explain the meaning of irregular nouns.
7. Give examples of singular and plural of irregular nouns.
8. Examples of nouns that appear in singular form
9. Give examples of nouns that appear in plural forms.
10. Learn how to use the articles  ‘a’and ‘an’.
11. State the meaning of pronouns, adjectives and adverbs
12. List the types of pronouns and give examples
13. Define synonyms, antonyms and homophones.
14. Give examples of synonyms, antonyms and homophones
